Whenever I see John Savident as solicitor George Askew in A FAMILY AT WAR, it makes me think of his wonderful performance in a 1988 film called A SUMMER STORY. Savident has a small but pivotal role in that
film, and he brings it off with great flair and humour.

Another wonderful actor who appears in both A FAMILY AT WAR and A SUMMER STORY is Kenneth Colley. You may recall that he was affable Sergeant Jago in the AFAW episode "Two Fathers." (He helps Edwin locate
Philip's girlfriend, Erika.) In A SUMMER STORY, he is a farmhand named Jim, who (like John Savident) also plays a critical role in advancing the story line.

the eye. Its final scene is quite devastating in impact.
