Yet the actor Mark McManus (Sam ll) was 38 at the time Series Il began. Isnt a 15-year age gap significant (of course older actors have forever played younger ones—Leslie Howard being a rather too mature Romeo, for all his flair and poetry). Mightn’t there have been a younger actor to assume the role?<o:p></o:p></p><div><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p></div><div><p class=MsoNormal>I mean no disrespect for the superlative work this series achieved.
