Whar did Margery Mason do before and after AFAW?
I can recommend Margery Mason's memoirs: Peaks And Troughs. Luckily she seems to have been a very different person from Celia :-) Both in character and politics. I certainly love the story about how she and Patrck Througton was almost arrested because they had drugs in the car. I'm sure it would never have happened to Celia ane Harry.
Best wishes - Vibeke Kold in Denmark

----- Original meddelelse -----

Fra: Scott Filderman via Afamilyatwar-list <afamilyatwar-list@baylor.edu>
Til: afamilyatwar-list@baylor.edu, Brian Renforth <renforthb@live.co.uk>
Dato: Søn, 25. mar 2018 19:51
Emne: Re: [Afamilyatwar-list] For the Duration

Nunnerly’s acting is exemplary throughout the series (she, McKelvey, and Mason are especially impressive).

I too am sensitive to boom shadows; amazing how often one can catch them (and outright boom heads dropping in overhead).

I wonder if Margery Mason ever did Beckett. Pure quality television in every way. The black and white flashback scenes including the reprise from, "The Breach of the Dyke" and what follows was especially effective.

The picture quality was first class too, looking as if it was recorded yesterday, not 47 years ago. The 2" Quad format was capable of brilliant quality pictures.

Lesley Nunnerly especially gave a stunning performance. Nice to see Gwyn back too though sometimes I think he should keep Celia company for his lack of tact. I'm sure they'd get on very well!

The live like quality revealed a couple of sightings of the microphone boom during the bedroom scenes. Not uncommon when viewing vintage programmes on a modern flat screen set (adjusted to the correct 4:3 aspect ratio) as when the programme was made sets had more curvy screens so such sightings wouldn't have been possible.

In all, another great episode.

Brian

Sent from my Windows Phone

_______________________________________________
Afamilyatwar-list mailing list
Afamilyatwar-list@baylor.edu
https://mailman.baylor.edu/mailman/listinfo/afamilyatwar-list
