I might also mention that James Beck appears in that episode as NAAFI deliveryman Bob O'Connell, who is having a "tea party" (David Ashton's words) with Sheila when David returns home unannounced. Beck, of course, was spiv Joe Walker on Dad's Army until his premature death at the age of 44. "The War Office Regrets" was taped while he was at the height of his fame as a cast member of Dad's Army. I guess they no longer exist in the archive but will be doing some research.<br clear="none"><br clear="none">Many of his Dr Who stories suffered the fate of the bulk VT erasing machine sadly. In my view it was Troughton who made Dr Who the success it is /was.<br clear="none"><br clear="none">One story I especially hoped would be recovered was "The Enemy of the World" where Patrick played two parts, Doctor Who and the dictator Salamander.
