Sadly, not Doris I have the DVD sets two different versions and the colour and black and white mix is all I have seen available. Are you Snowdonia like me Doris. If always suffered but it's got very bad, Get I can sleep in the day burnt at night even with a prescribed sleeping pill. Strange though, I enjoy the solitude in these early hours. It's quiet everyone similarly asleep. It's chaos in the day as I love in a block of flats on a busy estate. Cars and too many people. This country seems so crowded even outlying villages that were surrogate now thoroughfares and white scary places. I take solace in my nocturnal dads and reading when I can.

For a while I avoided them as I watch on DVD. However, I think some of the best episodes were among the black and white era, though I still wish I had the complete set-in colour.

My favourite episodes of all time are unfortunately black and white episodes but it's surprising how you soon Get used to it

Giving and taking; I adore the writing and filming. The strained beginning to set in further between Edwin and Jean, the lovely filming of the return to the mining village and Edwin's home. The conversation between Edwin and Jean is very moving.

The straight and Narrow, Salute the happy morn, I wanted to be with you and A separate peace. All favourites. I watch them repeatedly. Some of the lines are like poetry to me. The heartbreaking line from Jean "don't ever touch me again" so sad as moving A and so utterly convincing and exactly how Jean now feels, her world crumbling away. Beautifully said and reacted between them.

How do others demeanour the black and white. So, irritating that my favourite episodes were not in colour and it does break the feeling of continuity very much. I know it was due to a strike but sad that the series has a mix of colour and black and white. I regret that.
