Indeed, and they had a mutual fondness for each other that came across to the viewer. I often felt very sorry for Sefton. Jean was often on his side as she knew how lonely he really was. When she died it was good to have Helen in his corner though like Jean they both knew he could be a tricky one!

I liked Sefton's sister, Helen Hughes, much more than I liked Sefton himself, although I must say that Sefton had his good points as well. Brother and sister were both very strong willed and opinionated. Two very well-drawn characters!

She played Sefton's sister Helen, a nice character, amusing. Georgine lived to a very good age and was in Many programmes though previous little info on her. She must have been a very private person. I loved how she confessed to getting drunk sometimes and helping Shelia by giving her some of Sefton furniture
