This discussion about vintage cups/saucers reminds me of "The 1940s House." I think most any fan of AFAW would find that series to be quite illuminating. If you have not yet seen it, do yourself a favour and check it out!

Hi. I think the correct name is Greydawn by Johnson Bros pottery. They also made Rosedawn and Goldendawn. My parents had Greydawn.
My wife started collecting 40s pottery some years ago and has sets of the Johnson Bros pottery plus Woods Beryl (green), Jasmine (yellow) and Iris (blue). The Woods pottery is often seen in cafe shots and similar. Last year she sold off a huge collection of Woods Beryl to a couple who were starting up a 40s themed cafe.
Best regards Nick

I noticed the cups and saucers because my in-laws had something similar, but
I don't think quite the same, Theirs was called Blue Dawn, I think. I didn't
realise that the AFAW ones were Utility!

I am 39 years old and I grew up with a mother who went on and on about how
good AFAW was. So during lock down I decided that it was the best time for
me to join the Ashton family and re live the war years with them through my
isolation! Well, what a series. One of the most enjoyable, well written and
superbly acted things I've seen in a long time. I'm now re watching from the
start! I have also just purchased some Iris's couloir Utility ware cups and
saucers just like the ones they use! Totally in love with the series!
Very pleased to join this group.
Regards
Hanna
