[Afamilyatwar-list] Episode 25

Hello Richard,

It’s “What A Way To Go”, by Julia Forster (I think it’s her first novel). I like it because of the setting, as I’m from the English midlands myself, and I also liked the Eighties as a decade! I think I would recommend it.

Could the word we can’t quite see be aeons?? Would that make sense?

Christine

Hi, Christine.

Yes, "A Summer Story" is a brilliant film, and you really do need to see it. James Wilby is excellent as the lead character, and of course you'll also enjoy watching AFAW alumni Kenneth Colley and John Savident, who both play important roles.

What novel mentions "A Summer Story"? Would you please give me its title and author, so I can consider reading it? Does it get a positive recommendation from you?

Thank you!

Richard

Richard, you've once or twice mentioned the film "A Summer Story," and coincidentally I recently read a novel (set in 1988 in the midlands) in which two characters go to see it. I looked at the synopsis of the film, and thought that James Wilby was the ideal person to play that character!
