Hi Christine

Thanks for the insight. I’ve just found Talking To A Stranger on The Judi Dench Collection which I’ve ordered for £7.99!

I do wonder what made Celia...Celia. A stern Edwardian childhood, perhaps the family lost its money (unwise investments, which Soames would never have countenanced!), so that people stopped inviting her to parties and suitors were few...

Speaking of Margery Mason, I don’t think it’s available on DVD, but I saw this when it was repeated on television some years ago

It’s shattering.

Really enjoying my return trip though AFAW. The acting and writing are peerless!

John McKelvey, Patrick Troughton, and Colin Douglas are riveting in all their scenes. Apparently, Doctor Who DIDN’T transform into Jon Pertwee; in fact he turned into Harry Porter! I look at my Doctor Who DVDs and still can’t believe it was the same actor!

And Sefton Briggs looms as large as Soames Forsyte in my British Pantheon.

And every time I see poor Celia, I think...Mom! I’d stay and gush longer, but my psychologist appointment is coming up!

Down to the final 14 episodes....
