[Veit, Richard]

Lieutenant Norton, as portrayed by Tenniel Evans (center), is a sympathetic character who has lost all belief in the Spanish Civil War's "republican" cause. He is a likable sort, whom Philip (right) rather admires, I think, and his sense of humanity comes into deadly conflict with the communistic zeal of Parker (left).

Hello all,

I’m reading his memoir ‘Don’t Walk In The Long Grass.’ (He grew up in Kenya – where walking in long grass was what you absolutely didn’t do!) I didn’t realise that in later life he became a non-stipendiary C of E priest. Looking at his obituary, I realise that I’d seen him on stage in Racing Demon in 1990.
