AFAW was truly wonderful in so many ways. Based on recommendations made by members of this listserv, my wife and I are now gobbling up The Onedin Line, another Liverpool-based drama. These and other series are shining examples of what artists can achieve in television when permitted (unlike repressed American fare).

Also I would like to say how very much I am enjoying the afternoon rerun 
and have  I have managed  watched every episode so far   (when it was first broadcast I, was a teenager and  only caught the occasional episode ,as I was working in the evening and there were no video recorders then !)  I wept at the last two episodes (Wed ,Thur) where..... actually I won't spoil it for those that are still watching the weekend re run ! 

It a great piece of work john!
