I whizzed through it, but will go back and read it again.
On the “language” question, I saw a bit of something on Talking Pictures TV which I think was a television play, not a film, in which a word was silenced. It wasn’t bleeped, but a character said, “He’s a --- idiot,” and the ---was silent. I hope that makes sense!

If you Google Peterviney.wordpress.com, you will find a very interesting blog about matters pop cultural, particularly British. On the upper right, there is a Search box. Enter A Family at War, and you will get a rather long and interesting fact-based/opinionated column on the series, including a discussion of the “bad language” issue. I assume this will work for you in the UK.
